Findings that survive being read by the person they describe. That is the job.
You say the difficult thing early
Not in the retrospective. In week three, when it is still cheap.

How to write
Not a covering letter
Send whatever shows how you think. A finding you wrote, a design you would defend, or three paragraphs on a program that went sideways and why. A CV is welcome but it is not what we read first.
