AlphaOak at SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference 2026 Orlando: Preparing for What Comes Next

AlphaOak prepares for SAP Sapphire 2026 in Orlando, engaging utility leaders on enterprise transformation, clean core, and long term architecture strategy.

Each year, SAP Sapphire brings together the leaders shaping the future of enterprise systems. It is one of the few moments where strategy, technology, and real operational responsibility converge in the same place.

As we look ahead to this year’s event in Orlando on May 12-13th, AlphaOak will be on the ground with Crawford Owens and Lars Bergmann, engaging with utility executives, transformation leaders, and partners who are navigating some of the most complex programs in the industry.

While the sessions and announcements will unfold in real time, the direction of the conversation is already taking shape.

The industry has moved past the phase of exploration. Most organizations have already committed to large scale transformation initiatives, whether through S 4HANA, cloud adoption, or broader modernization efforts. The question now is not what to do next. It is how to ensure what is being built actually works, and continues to work long after the program is complete.

That shift is expected to define this year’s Sapphire.

There will likely be continued focus on clean core, not just as a guiding principle, but as a requirement for long term sustainability. Organizations are beginning to recognize that without discipline at the architectural level, complexity grows faster than value.

The relationship between SAP and Esri is also expected to remain a critical topic, particularly for utilities. As asset intensive organizations continue to evolve, the need for alignment between enterprise systems and geospatial platforms is becoming more central to operational performance.

Artificial intelligence and automation will undoubtedly be part of the conversation as well. However, there is a growing understanding across the industry that advanced capabilities depend on the strength of the underlying architecture. Without that foundation, innovation struggles to scale in a meaningful way.

At the same time, there is increasing awareness of transformation risk. Many programs are large, complex, and under pressure to deliver quickly. What is often missing is a consistent focus on long term design integrity and the ability to identify issues early, before they become embedded in the system.

This is where AlphaOak brings a clear and focused perspective.

Transformation is not just about moving forward. It is about making the right decisions along the way and ensuring those decisions hold up over time. Operating with an Owner’s Agent mindset means staying aligned to outcomes, protecting architectural integrity, and maintaining visibility across the full lifecycle of a program.

Events like Sapphire provide an opportunity to step back from day to day execution and engage in more honest conversations about what is working, what is not, and what needs to change.

For AlphaOak, being there is not about simply attending. It is about listening carefully, contributing meaningfully, and continuing to refine how we support organizations through complex transformation efforts.

If you will be in Orlando, Crawford Owens and Lars Bergmann will be available throughout the event.

The most valuable conversations often happen outside the sessions.
